For so long that I\u2019ve forgotten<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That this is no fairy tale<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is the real world<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nothing has to make sense<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Things don\u2019t have to be what they seem<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And sometimes things just don\u2019t work out<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No matter how hard you try<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes it really is better<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To just up and walk away<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rather than keep trying<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And failing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And falling<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And torturing yourself<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reaching for the carrot<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dangling just out of reach<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Really is just a freight train<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barreling down the track<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Assuming you\u2019re smart enough<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To stay out of the way<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And you\u2019re not always the hero of the story<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That sweeps in at the right time<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wins the day and gets the girl<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes you\u2019re just a bit player<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And others you\u2019re not even in the scene<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And all you can do is play the role as written<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trying not to do something stupid<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like stumble, stutter, or miss a line<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Well I really messed up this time<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the curtain\u2019s falling<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I just have to face the bad reviews<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the book closes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
