things are never quite as you remember
\nwhen you find you\u2019ve been away
\ntime takes its toll
\nmemories fade
\nseasons pass
\nand take with them the days we knew
\ntry as they might
\nno one can stop the clock
\nentropy is an inescapable truth
\nbut something can always be made of the future
\nand sometimes the past comes back to life
\nso here\u2019s to the world under yesterday\u2019s shadow
\nand reforging paths we never got to take
\nrighting the wrongs
\nreliving the magic
\nand to the future, whatever it may bring<\/p>\n

Rather than do my now-usual \u201cI\u2019m still alive\u201d post, I figured my most-recent piece of poetry would be a better return to active blogging. This one was inspired by a story I read online recently combining with my usual holiday season nostalgia and swirling together into something semi-poetic.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
