The echos of command from somewhere<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Proceed the blanket over your head<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The muted sounds of saws and scraping<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like some twisted demolition<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Too far away to be above you<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And yet that canvas falls between<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Much like the great green canopy<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That you can\u2019t tell where ends or begins<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just that it rose to hold you somehow<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From floating lost away below<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the rushing, all the voices<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chipping, chopping, whirring blades<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All rise in place of the silence<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third voice that you know should be<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stuck inside that moving prison<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The folded steel and plexiglass<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A crack in the windshield all your mind catches<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the sound of the man telling you not to move<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You hear the distance to the chopper<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Waiting to be your lifeline<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You know the voice you heard beside you<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Has been sent to better days<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But as the time grows ever longer<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And soon falls your freedom ride<\/p>\n\n\n\n
