Empty-handed, something\u2019s missing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Something strong and overwhelming <\/p>\n\n\n\n
out there somewhere in the darkness<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Something I can\u2019t describe<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And here I am, buried under fantasies<\/p>\n\n\n\n
of what might have been<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in another lifetime far away<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So far beneath the light of day <\/p>\n\n\n\n
the surface seems so lost<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My mind made mountains out of naught<\/p>\n\n\n\n
but tiny grains of sand that slip through fingers<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and yet weigh heavy on my soul<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Memories, illusions, ephemeral reminders <\/p>\n\n\n\n
of what I thought could be but never was <\/p>\n\n\n\n
that creep up every now and then <\/p>\n\n\n\n
to grab me by the shoulders <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and make certain that I can\u2019t break frre<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So here I sleep, alone again <\/p>\n\n\n\n
shut tight sway from everything<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dreading what the night brings forth <\/p>\n\n\n\n
to haunt my humbled, harried head<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pray I wake one morning <\/p>\n\n\n\n
to the light, so safe, so true <\/p>\n\n\n\n
that I might use to burn away <\/p>\n\n\n\n
