those moments of knowing and sharing, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
of mutual understanding and connection<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can\u2019t look back and tell me <\/p>\n\n\n\n
that none of that was real<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It can\u2019t be disregarded, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
abandoned or forgotten<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even so far removed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
it creeps up on me time to time<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The absence of that closeness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the void left in the leaving, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
the wasted time and effort <\/p>\n\n\n\n
all for nothing but the pain<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But worst of all, the thought that haunts <\/p>\n\n\n\n
of what might have come to pass <\/p>\n\n\n\n
had we stayed close and found <\/p>\n\n\n\n
where that path we walked would take us <\/p>\n\n\n\n
without the broken ending <\/p>\n\n\n\n
