I chase with such veracity<\/p>\n\n\n\n
all to crash and burn again <\/p>\n\n\n\n
throw myself into the fire <\/p>\n\n\n\n
attempting to smother flames <\/p>\n\n\n\n
we surely could just walk around<\/p>\n\n\n\n
self-sacrifice so far beyond <\/p>\n\n\n\n
any explanation <\/p>\n\n\n\n
either reasonable or otherwise <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I play the role of martyr even <\/p>\n\n\n\n
in the acts where none is needed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and never seem to understrand <\/p>\n\n\n\n
why the scars of my stupidity <\/p>\n\n\n\n
can never heal or disappear <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I bleed myself repeatedly <\/p>\n\n\n\n
for nothing more than easy vision <\/p>\n\n\n\n
of the dark red footsteps as <\/p>\n\n\n\n
the other person turns away <\/p>\n\n\n\n
what else would a sane person do <\/p>\n\n\n\n
when someone cuts in front of them <\/p>\n\n\n\n
with no other purpose than <\/p>\n\n\n\n
to fall right at their feet? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soaked in sanguine self-importance <\/p>\n\n\n\n
lying about all the reasons <\/p>\n\n\n\n
slowing dying in the embers <\/p>\n\n\n\n
of emotions only I will ever know <\/p>\n\n\n\n
the pointless, empty, broken victim <\/p>\n\n\n\n
