I\u2019m hanging off the edge of the world <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and all those around me are screaming <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and yelling <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and stepping on my fingers <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and I\u2019m not sure if it matters <\/p>\n\n\n\n
whether their feet are falling where they may on purpose <\/p>\n\n\n\n
or if they\u2019re just blind to the weakening grasp <\/p>\n\n\n\n
of my digits below them <\/p>\n\n\n\n
no one can hear me cry out <\/p>\n\n\n\n
as they whoop and cheer <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and set fire to the world <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and I\u2019m not sure how long I can hang on <\/p>\n\n\n\n
panic sets in as I twist and stretch <\/p>\n\n\n\n
every muscle in my body struggling to climb <\/p>\n\n\n\n
back up to solid ground <\/p>\n\n\n\n
but there\u2019s no room for me there anymore <\/p>\n\n\n\n
amongst the crowd that has gathered <\/p>\n\n\n\n
to celebrate the end of everything <\/p>\n\n\n\n
as if it were some bright new beginning <\/p>\n\n\n\n
the fire grows higher <\/p>\n\n\n\n
the gloom grows thicker <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and I might as well just <\/p>\n\n\n\n
