walking in her wake<\/p>\n\n\n\n
watching as she runs away<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and never catching up<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Standing on the sidelines<\/p>\n\n\n\n
with sign and smiling face<\/p>\n\n\n\n
hoping to not end up lost <\/p>\n\n\n\n
in the echoes of the crowd<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe this is what I wanted<\/p>\n\n\n\n
purpose, though vague and undefined<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It helps that I find joy in watching<\/p>\n\n\n\n
as she\u2019s rounding every corner<\/p>\n\n\n\n
a litter faster, a little brighter,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
so hot she burns that I don\u2019t dare touch<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But oh to stand next to that fire<\/p>\n\n\n\n
so may the warmth and light embrace<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Where she may go I\u2019ll gladly follow<\/p>\n\n\n\n
as long as I can find the path<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I know the worry looms<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I could never match her pace<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Far too fast, she burns too bright<\/p>\n\n\n\n
too much for me to ever hold<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If only for that feeling moment<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I could ever stand beside her<\/p>\n\n\n\n
reach out and feel that flame\u2019s caress <\/p>\n\n\n\n
