The words I want to say<\/p>\n\n\n\n
have been said so many times and ways<\/p>\n\n\n\n
by people far more eloquent and literate<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(and people far less also)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That fact keeps coming up in the back of my head<\/p>\n\n\n\n
every time I set back down<\/p>\n\n\n\n
once again to try and fight the language<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and arrange those expressions<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to match what I keep thinking and feeling<\/p>\n\n\n\n
because I know the words are there<\/p>\n\n\n\n
but nothing ever feels quite right<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The stars just don\u2019t align<\/p>\n\n\n\n
with the tongue in my head<\/p>\n\n\n\n
or these fingertips<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Words always seem to fail me<\/p>\n\n\n\n
when I need them most<\/p>\n\n\n\n
they flow free most inopportunely<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and leave me stumbling, alone<\/p>\n\n\n\n
with nothing to hold onto<\/p>\n\n\n\n
but deep thoughts and good intentions<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So here I am again<\/p>\n\n\n\n
pleading to whatever muse<\/p>\n\n\n\n
would grant me pity and mercy enough<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to finally win this struggle<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and grant me the words<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to say what I mean to<\/p>\n\n\n\n
at the right time and place<\/p>\n\n\n\n
